کنفرانس    An Introduction to PET physics 2018   

Organised by IPEM’s Nuclear Medicine Special Interest Group

An introduction to PET Physics, including the physical principles underpinning PET, quality control of PET scanners, common imaging procedures and radiation protection. We will look at issues surrounding image reconstruction, standardising image quality, common artefacts, and the use of PET in multi-centre trials.  The course is designed to provide a basic core of knowledge for those supporting PET systems.  The course has been designed with medical physicists (including STP trainees), senior technologists and senior radiographers in mind, but all are welcome.
There will be presentations on variations in hardware and software between the main manufacturers, given by healthcare professionals with first-hand experience. There will also be plenty of opportunity for further networking and discussion over breaks.

Learning Outcomes
1.Understand the physical principles and technical aspects of PET imaging
2.Understand QC requirements for PET/CT scanners and how to assess camera performance
3.Develop knowledge and understanding of how to perform a variety of PET imaging procedures
4.Develop knowledge and understanding of PET image QC and image artefacts
5.Be aware of radiation protection requirements in PET

Organised by IPEM’s Ultrasound and Non-Ionising Radiation Special Interest Group

 

This meeting aims to bring together researchers, Clinical Scientists, Engineers and Clinical Technologists from all relevant disciplines active in the field of Clinical Ultrasound Quality Assurance to discuss latest guidance, methodologies and exchange experiences and ideas, to provide an opportunity for networking.
The meeting provides an update for physicists, scientists and technologists working with Ultrasound equipment and involved in ultrasound QA  and is an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences and ideas and is an excellent networking opportunity.

– To provide a stimulating forum for the exchange of ideas regarding QA methods for new and existing ultrasound equipment
– To provide an opportunity for users to learn how to overcome any issues they are encountering in the field of ultrasound equipment QA

•  کنفرانس  Dosimetry in Diagnostic Radiology

Organised by IPEM’s Diagnostic Radiology Special Interest Group

There are many situations where patient doses are calculated and risk estimations made within the field of diagnostic radiology. Effective dose provides a good overall indicator but this leads to a tendency towards being used as the ‘go to’ metric in the absence of other more suitable alternatives. The new Regulations and MPE accreditation place greater emphasis for knowledge and understanding of dose. This meeting aims to provide information on the variety of dosimetry methods than can be used across a range of situations and to provide clarity about compliance with regulatory and accreditation bodies.
Abstracts will be welcomed from anyone wishing to share their experiences of the application of dosimetry tools and use of various dosimetric quantities.

Deeper understanding of available dose quantities and how they can be used for specific purposes in Diagnostic Radiology
